Geoffrey Bruce is the Senior Exploration Software Architect for the School of Earth and Space Exploration and serves as leader of the Immersive Virtual Field Trips (iVFT) team at Arizona State University’s Education Through Exploration group. He holds a graduate degree in intuitive learning in immersive virtual environments and his PhD work focuses on exploration system design and novelty space as they relate to educational immersive and interactive environments. As an educational technologist, he has over 25 years of experience. In addition to his work at ASU, Geoffrey was the technical director and lead developer in the Education Division at NASA’s Ames Research Center, he was the senior designer and developer of one of the first projection based interactive virtual environment entertainment facilities, and prior to that, he worked in game design and development. He has been the technologist behind a number of award-winning ASU and NASA technology applications and over the years has had numerous immersive exhibits in various museums including the Tech Museum of Innovation in Silicon Valley and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC.
