A brand new day
Submitted by Aldo Hoeben on Mon, 2010-03-08 11:32.
After about four and a quarter years of spending a sizeable chunk for my spare (and not so spare) time as a hobby, it is time for a break. I started working on the IVRPA website as a hobby, and over the past year and a half most of the fun of doing it eroded away. A recent chain of events has convinced me it is better to step down as (sole) webmaster now than to stay and become (even more) bitter. Just thought you should know...
Thanks for all the fish.
Aldo

Thank you so much for all the work. You are the face of the IVRPA, through this website, which you've built & maintained for so many years.
Much appreciated,

I have the same feeling as Aaron and Matthias, you have created all on your own, what is today the main IVRPA property, it's website, not only coding away the Drupal CMS for the features we needed, but also developing and integrating nice stuff on top of that, i.e. the CuTy player, etc, all this out of your own sweat and tears, thank you, this association owes you a lot.

You did a fantastic job, and i'm sure it will be hard to find somebody which is capable and willing to do so much for, and invest so many time in the Organization.
I do understand there is more in life as just working with bits somewhere in a dark room. So I think you have reached the point, where you set your personal priorities.
I also would like to thank you for a job well done, and do hope the organization will find somebody which is capable of taking over the job.
I do also hope, you will guide the new responsable into your work. That would be great!
Wishing you all the best.
Greetings

I can imagine (with the little knowledge I have about the problems) that it has been a frustrating time for you. I allways regarded you as one of the pillars of the IVRPA, working silently in the backgound. It comes as a shock to hear that you are leaving us as a webmaster. As a member it makes me feel a bit guilty.
Many thanks for all the energy that you have put into it all these years. You have absolutely earned my respect for that!
I hope to meet you again any time soon and whish you good luck.
Grtz, Ton

Please don't.

Thanks. It's appreciated.

I'll still be around. Just no longer as a webmaster...

Submitted by mitridiy on Wed, 2010-05-05 08:13.It is the wright thing to do, I have a university degree in law not because I wanted to become a lawyer but cos back in childhood I have decided that this is the best education a person can get. After only a year of work as a lawyer ( and I really wasn’t that bad) I decided to quit, cos it was obvious that in spite of the fact I was happy with my diploma and my paycheck I was really unhappy with my job. You will find your true cooling pretty soon I'm shore ;) !
