Hosting issues

We've been having some issues with our hosting. Some of you might have been seeing red error messages instead of content from time to time. This is due to issues at our host, CIHost.

We're on a shared server. Whenever someone else on our server uploads one or more very large files, the /tmp partition fills up. This means that other file uploads will fail, but far more importantly, MySQL will fail doing even the simplest of SELECT statements with an 'error 28'. Unfortunately, this seems to happen quite often. Looking through the logs of the site, I have traced back 4 incidents:

11-8 from 02:40 to 07:58 (outage: 05:18)
18-8 from 16:46 to 21:45 (outage: 04:59)
19-8 from 17:03 to 17:04 (outage: 00:01)
22-8 from 14:25 to 18:19 (outage: 03:54)

Total outage over the past two weeks: more than 14 hours. That's beyond 'outch!'. Needless to say, I started complaining when this happened the first time in july (before we opened up teh site for the outside world), and I am continuing to do so through CIHost's support system, but I'm not seeing any improvement... So much for CIHost's 100% uptime guarantee.

Please bear with us, and keep warning if/when you're seeing this red 'error 28' text, untill we find a better home for the site (or untill CIHost miraculously recovers from their malconfigured mess).
