Memoires of a site admin
The IVRPA website is a community site. That's why we, the IVRPA Board of Directors and webteam, chose Drupal as a backend for the new website. Drupal is used a lot for blog(-like) websites, but it can do much more than just host a (series of) blog(s). It's really optimally suited for community sites such as ours; The tagline of the Drupal project is 'community plumbing'. Even so, in hoping it will keep the site alive, we're offering IVRPA members the opportunity to host a blog or journal on this site (as well as aggregating current blogs).
The thing is, I already have a personal blog (part of which is aggregated here), where I post about panoramic stuff among other topics. Hoeben.net is even Drupal based, like this site (looking closely at the Hoeben.net design, you'll spot my love for CSS-based dropdown menus ;-). So on this blog, I will be talking strictly about the IVRPA site; new developments, plans, maintenance, etc. The inside scoop, so to say....
As I'm writing this, the new website is still 'under construction' and only accessible if you know the special word. I've made a promise to have the site online around the 4th of july, at which date the new World Wide Panorama project launches. Lots to do, in so little time.
