EveryScape Ambassador program debut

http://www.ambassadors.everyscape.com/about

EveryScape is launching their ambassador program for road coverage and interior photography
of businesses. It's a very ambitious global approach and EveryScape has some serious money to start the ball rolling.

It's not the highest quality VR imaging, but they are looking to produce many, many, many panoramas
of communities and businesses.

Blue Dasher Tech & DevalVR

Another player in the street visualization field that uses MS Virtual Earth AND a form
of DevalVR player.

It's going to get crowded on the streets with all these street mapping companies. Keep
both hands on the wheel and avoid gawking as their vehicles pass by :-)

Pix by the Pound or Kilo for the trash man

I have been having a lot of sick fun dumping bags and bags of negatives, slides, and contact sheets
out with the trash. All the stuff is pre-digital and has been gathering dust and taking up space,
some of it has been sitting around for 20+ years (remember Kodak Tri-x or Kodachrome slides...)

My estimate is that I've dumped close to 100 pounds (40 kilos?) of images in the past month.
Of course, there are many more bags to dump in the months ahead.
My trick is to drop it on the curb while the garbage man is only a few houses away. That way,

CES Intel demo with Everyscape Beijing panoramas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAkXQUaawLg

This is a hand held video of the Intel keynote speech at CES,
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The demo includes
panoramas of the Intel offices in Beijing produced by Everyscape;
the panoramas are used to help a traveler negotiate an unknown urban
landscape to find a destination.

More power, and more panoramas, please.

A New Building for NY Times

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2007/11/20/arts/20071120_TIMES_GRAPHI...

The New York Times features several full screen flash panos of its new building.
It's great they chose panoramas to show off the new space; I liked panning in
the newsroom image to check out the desks.

Trojan + malware + IPIX

http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,139736-c,trojanhorses/article.html

The GeoCities sites are infected with malicious JavaScript code that redirects the user's browser to secondary URLs hosted in Turkey, Ferguson said. The Turkish URLs, meanwhile, try to persuade the user to download a new codec that's supposedly necessary to view images on the GeoCities sites. According to Trend Micro's analysis, the bogus codec -- which claims to be for the 360-degree IPIX format -- is actually an identity- and information-stealing piece of malware

HD View + 360's + WinXP

Looks like Microsoft Research has released an updated stitcher which will allow output of a 360. The resulting panorama can be viewed with
the HD View (Windows only) plug in.

http://hdview.spaces.live.com/

Automatic stitching options are available from Autopano, and Autostitch. And there is very active Flickr Autostitch group.

Our friends at Xrez, have a gigapixel 360 on their gallery.
