Julieanne Kost & Lightroom

Today I attended a presentation by Julieanne Kost, presented by the New England School of Photography in Boston.
Many of you may know Julieanne as one of Adobe's chief evangelists. (I haven't used Lightroom, but I was quite impressed with its
feature set.)

Notes: Lightroom to begin shipping in early 2007. Adobe Bridge will not go away. Most photographers will not need Bridge.
Lightroom will utilize a plug in architecture, like PS. (Could this be useful for HDR or Panoramas??)
Julieanne was demoing a beta of Lightroom that was only two days old, and not available to the public at press time.
Red folders mean files are off line.
JK: There will always be a disconnect between what you see on the back of your camera and 3rd party software.
Beta: standard preview size increased to 1440 pixels; shoots now called folders, filters moved to the bottom; collections are
virtual; GPS: link in GPS info from JK's Nikon D2x opens up Google Earth; Recovery slider helps with exposure issues; fill flash
slider available; split screen function is "YY"; draggable histogram; tone curves feature targeted eye dropper "turkey baster" for curves;
copyright watermark export option; photobinders; price....competitive with Apple Aperture...$300?...: Intel Mac support in next PS CS3
release;

Overall, Adobe Lightroom is quite impressive, sort of a Photo Mechanic on steroids. I do like having companies fight for my money :-)
