Pix by the Pound or Kilo for the trash man
I have been having a lot of sick fun dumping bags and bags of negatives, slides, and contact sheets
out with the trash. All the stuff is pre-digital and has been gathering dust and taking up space,
some of it has been sitting around for 20+ years (remember Kodak Tri-x or Kodachrome slides...)
My estimate is that I've dumped close to 100 pounds (40 kilos?) of images in the past month.
Of course, there are many more bags to dump in the months ahead.
My trick is to drop it on the curb while the garbage man is only a few houses away. That way,
all these **fine** images will be mixed with dirty diapers, trash, food scraps, etc.
I look at it this way: (1) the clients are not going to call for the images, (2) I wouldn't want
to rummage through my piles anyway, (3) the economy stinks, (4) if Getty Images can't make a buck
with their trillion images, how is Joe Photographer supposed to make out?
Throw some images away, you'll feel better :-)

I collect old photos, and have some treasures. Where do you live, and when is garbage day?
Clayman ;-)

Wow, did ehu.. you a at least 'sort em out'/scan
or let somebody with fresh eyes browse them before dumping 'em?

This isn't a mid-life crisis is it? Maybe you should just buy a Hummer, and store all your pix in it.
