Hi, I am here...
Hi again,
Sorry for being too lazy to update my blog here at IVRPA.org, I will try to redeem myself in the near future.
But first I would like to say a word to all IVRPA members that I have personally met in Prague and in the last two editions of Photokina, you are a great bunch of people and a talented one too, it is a great pleasure to be part of this community and I look forward to see many of you next October in Albuquerque or in the mean time some of you in Timisoara/Romania at the Panotools Meeting.
This year I was elected to be part of the IVRPA Board of Directors and I would like to use this blog to share my experience about doing that for the association but I must make clear that the points of view expressed here don't necessarily represent the Board of Directors views but rather, they are my point of view and my thoughts about various issues we are facing.
I would also like to thank all previous members who where previous directors of the IVRPA for donating their free time to the good will of the association.
When I was a candidate I had some ideas about what I could do has director in the IVRPA and I quote from my candidate statement:
1) Help defining a strategy for the IVRPA.
3) See what more can we do to showcase the work of our members.
2) Find what can be done by the IVRPA to help members dealing with the copyright infringing issues.
4) Help establish the IVRPA has source of knowledge that manufacturers could turn to fine tune their soft and hard wares to the needs of our community.
In general, I want to put in the points of view of professional photographers that strive to make a living delivering high standard products to their clients in the form of VR images.
End of quote.
During this year I will report on my efforts to achieve those goals, and I will ask for your help and feedback along the way, so why not start now!
I am part of the Web Committee and I would like to have feedback on what features are needed on the website so that we can prioritize our efforts, I am not looking at normal website feedback, that can still be posted to the website feedback forum but rather I would like to have member opinions on features needed, ideas and general direction and purpose for the website.
We are currently still working on moving the website to a more stable hosting platform and although the website is very good has it is, many things can be improved, discussion might point us to a needed feature that we didn't notice yet. I am not promising that we will implement everything, or even that we will do it quickly, remember that we do this for the IVRPA on our spare time.
