Submitted by Aldo Hoeben on Fri, 2009-12-18 20:22.It's impressive, technically, but unfortunately it is a very uninteresting scene. With technology and software getting better and better, hopefully we will soon be able to focus on beauty in the image (eg composition) as opposed to just technical achievement.
On a web-teamy sidenote: why is this a newspost? More people would see it if it were in the forum, or on your blog.

Yes, I agree with you.
I hope gradually these technical achievements could be use to enhance the display of a beautiful scene rather than to crunch numbers.
I am trying to figure out the differences between between the different types of posts, do you have a guide anywhere on this?
Could help me and others understand what happens with these different types of content post to the website.

News items go directly to the front page, but other content can be promoted to the front page as well. I'll eventually move this post to the forum, if that's ok with you.
Update: Posted it to your blog.
The Post on this site page has a description per node-type.

We should use it for announcements only since any other type of content can be promoted to the front page.
