Fine art Flash Web site

Thought I'd share this one with everyone -- there are some final Ts to cross and Is to dot, but the site is live. :) This is my first full-on foray into writing code solely in AS3, for those who care about such things.

This site for Hung Liu, San Francisco Bay Area based fine artist, was just about the first job of mine in 2007 that wasn't based around panoramas. Or so I thought...

Hung Liu is a painter, but much of the visual basis for her work begins as a photograph -- this will be obvious if you go to the site and drill down to the individual images -- and one of her most recent series is called “Daughters of China”. Apparently “Daughters of China” was a Chinese propaganda film ca. 1949 (or 1938, or other years depending on where you look), which was shot in very widescreen format. OK, it's a reach, but panoramic, no? :-)

Working on this site also let me get to play with Zoomify again - -and hopefully to good effect!

Enjoy the site:
