IPIX demise
The Knoxville News Sentinel has posted a more in-depth article from their Sunday edition about the demise of IPIX, including an abbreviated, but interesting timeline for the company.
You can read about it here:

One of the News Sentinel photographs appearing with the article (of the IPIX design team, "viewed through an (IPIX) fisheye lens"), unfortunately suffers from the same lack of quality (lots of dust specks, flare, etc.) that was a shortcoming of many IPIX images. I'm not sure whether this was chosen intentionally by the News Sentinel to accompany this article for this reason or not.
Any guesses on how much the IPIX patent portfolio might go for? Together, do you think we could come up with the funds, so we could release the patents into the public domain as a service to the VR community? (grin)
Food for thought, anyway...

Or you get aggressive and then go out of business...
