catch a wave

Any of you action-pano specialists up for a challenge? They are predicting 40 foot (12 meter) waves at the Mavericks surfing competition this Saturday here in northern California.
Has a pano ever been shot on a really big wave? I would love to see one. So many of the photographs are taken from shore with very long lenses. Impressive, but not the "you are there" experience.
Shooting from the wave face itself would be like the panos we have seen of rock climbers and hang gliders. But faster, more dangerous, and wetter.
