Grimsvotn is a subglacial volcano, located on the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajokull. Grimsvotn are highly active volcano with the latest eruption in December 2004 and has erupted 48 times. The hut in the photo is a owned by the Icelandic glaciological Society and is one of the nicest mountain huts in Iceland with heating all-year around.
