Aldo, you are right, I just uploaded a less shaved version.
This is not mosaic, is the famous "Calçada à Portuguesa" (small cube shaped stones black or white placed one by one by handy man) that can be seen here in Lisbon, all over Portugal and in the countries once colonized by the Portuguese like Brazil (notable also is the "calçadão" in Rio de Janeiro).
