This is an image from a time long gone by - photographed last autum (2008).
Yes, you can use your old equipment for stitched panoramas. I started last autum after I had been infected by the panorama virus at photokina. Somewhere in the Lesachtal, Kärnten, Austria, I took a Rolleicord Vb (a 6x6 cm TLR from around 1965), a small tripod, two Q-top and started...
This image is stitched from 20 slides, scanned at 1200 dpi.
No panohead was used, just two Q-top quick release systems, one on top of the tripod under the ball head and one on top of the ball head under the camera. The Q-top hats notches in intervalls of 30 degrees, so I switched from one notch to the next and got a perfect alignment of the the slides.

The image isn't really sharp because I scanned it 8 times over to get some detail in the darker parts...
