Biosphere 2 is near Tucson. If you attending Tucson2010 you might be interested in checking it out.
Admission is free but you can take a guided tour for $20.00.
If photography is your reason for visiting skip the tour and just wander around the outside and go into the Habitat area where
admission is free. If you want to learn more about it there is a 15 minute video in the habitat section which explains it all.
Constructed between 1987 and 1991, it was used to explore the complex web of interactions within life systems in a closed structure.
It also explored the possible use of closed biospheres in space colonization.
