Tailor-made Usage of the Google Maps API for Creating Interactive Virtual Tours
Posting 360° panoramas to Google Maps not only allows for a broad audience, but with the help of the Maps API the imagery can also be used within your own projects.
For their endeavour ZUGSPITZE 360° Phil & David Schmidt documented a hike atop the summit of the Zugspitze. For a fast and reliable hosting of the almost 1,000 panoramas they chose Google’s infrastructure as hosting platform. Using the Maps API they built a tailor-made website in which one can experience every meter of the trail and also get further information.
In their talk the brothers will highlight how they built the logic behind the project and give insights how to overcome hurdles using the service.
