CheathamLane on iPhone

Having some fun with iPhone; except for photography, have the CheathamLane Web site visible to iPhone in an iPhone-specific format (a la iUI) .

I still need to "pretty it up", but the basics are there (thanks Joe!). Interestingly, iPhone specific links such as (510) 868.9120, and some regular http links, don't seem to work from my pages.

These pages will probably not preview correctly in a regular Web browser, so don't bother. ;-)

More to come, and back to the drawing board!

Patrick

Update Re: CheathamLane on iPhone

Aha, so it seems that links geared to interact with iPhone (telephone numbers, email mailto:, maps) need to have a target of "_self" before they'll open the appropriate app on iPhone.

Solved!

Re: Update Re: CheathamLane on iPhone

Hi Patrick,

Nice micro site.

The "360° rotational product photography" pitch is genius. Never heard of it. Outstanding and clever phrasing, I think.

I really enjoyed your note on..."iPhone does not yet support delivery of interactive panoramas...".

Do you think Apple will ever consider it? I have got no hope left in me. They neglect their own property...QTVR. They don't support Java or Flash.....and one has to recommend a iPhone user to use a regular laptop/desktop to access the internet to see a fully interactive media...
that is a slap in the face from Apple beyond comprehendibility to me. In fact, I find it is already offensive.

VRcheers,

Milko

Re: Update Re: CheathamLane on iPhone

Hey Milko:

:-P

I can only think that Apple must be looking to incorporate more support for 3rd party plugins on the iPhone. I imagine how difficult it must be to pack it all in to their stripped down iOS. ;)

We'll see wha the future brings...

Cheers!

(and thanks for the kudos!)

Update Re: CheathamLane on iPhone

I've moved away from Joe's iUI, and gotten lots of inspiration from http://www.iphonemiles.com , for the basic CheathamLane iPhone presence. iPhoneMiles is a nice little online app, by the way, for folks who need to track mileage.

Cheers,
