The Getty Center Los Angeles CA research library, museum, grounds, restaurant photos by photographer Bruce L Oliver Enfield, CT
The Getty Center Los Angeles CA is a magnificent architectural complex housing the Getty Research Center, museum, gardens and restaurant funded by J Paul Getty. I had a great time photographing the architecture at this complex for a full day January 03, 2001 and you can see it by going to: http://www.SeeAroundPhotos.com/CA/GettyCenter/ The next time I visit the center I plan to take a couple virtual tours. Oil Tycoon and Billionaire J Paul Getty spent his life building his fortune risking everything he had in the early 1930's. After his death he continues to give away his fortune with projects like this one. This amazing billion dollar complex is North of the city and is free to the public except for an $8 parking fee. The restaurant, grounds, museum and Research Library at the Getty Research Institute are world class. That day we learned that J Paul Getty gave the architech and contractors had a never ending flow of money to do what ever they wish. The breathtaking complex is the result of their work and Getty's money. Truely breath taking!
