Wanted - Manual Object VR Turntable

I need to buy, or rent, a manual object VR turntable like the Kaidan PiXi Manual Turntable. I'm located in Toronto,Canada.
The dealer in Toronto (Vistek) is quoting 6-8 weeks delivery, and shipping from Kaidan in the US is surprisingly expensive.
If anyone has one that they no longer use, or that they can spare for a couple of weeks, please reply to this post! Thanks!

Re: Wanted - Manual Object VR Turntable

I have a Magellan 2500 Motorized Object Rig that I'm selling. I'm looking for a fraction of the cost of a new rig.
I am however in the UK and I would have to add carriage costs.
If your interested please contact me

Phil

Thanks Phil. I wish I was in a position to use such a rig, but for now I'm working on some small objects, on a tight budget. Thanks for the response!

Re: Wanted - Manual Object VR Turntable

You are probably in a hurry and don't want to fiddle, but why not get a manfrotto 360n head and bolt on a platform? You will get down to 5 degree increments if that is acceptable. Vistek should have these in stock.
For very small things a photographer friend uses stepping motors, old printers are often a good source. Use the motor manually, and as you turn it by hand it will settle into repeatable positions.
Hope this helps.

Re: Wanted - Manual Object VR Turntable

Clayman,

I didn't realize that the Manfrotto head (I think you mean the 300N rotator?) had click stops. It's a little more money than the PiXi turntable, but it will serve as a pano head also. I'm going to take a look at one this week. If it works the way I hope it does, that's what I'll get. Thanks for the tip!
