Avoiding mirror reflections
Good day,
I am very new to VR panos but as further I search, I discover that the power of some of these images is awesome!
Although I still don't have my own VR equipment, I am keen to buy some in the near future :)
I have this question about the mirror reflections in rooms. Even if the camera clearly stands in front of a large mirror, there is no camera reflected in the mirror! How do they do that? I don't think it's possible to mask so many details in photoshop to remove the tripod and the camera. Any thoughts on this please? I would greatly appreciate your help!
Regards,
Mark
Re: Avoiding mirror reflections
Any chance that the panorama was shot with a "one shot" panoramic lens? I purchased one for my own real estate virtual tour business, but was not happy with the result at all. After spending over $600 for the One-Shot lens, I am back to stitching my panoramas. It does take more time, but the end result is MUCH better.
Re: Avoiding mirror reflections
I shoot the pano normally then off to the side of the mirror I take a shot and patch it in using Photoshop' perspective correction tools, easy once you get the hang of it !

Re: Avoiding mirror reflections
If I can not move the camera in a spot to hide, I use flowers ... check it out

go to the master bath
I used the same flowers and moved them to the other counter for the opposite shot
Hope this helps

thanks

It is. It always is. There is no such thing is 'impossible to do in Photoshop' given enough time and skills.
However, there are other methods conceivable. One is to take an additional shot of the mirror from such a location that there is no camera reflection, and 'patching' it in. The nadir-patching technique in PTGui 7.3 would come in handy, but ofcourse you should not use controlpoints in the reflection, and only on the wall the mirror is on.
