University Virtual Tour in Fullscreen Flash

Aarhus School of Business is a part of the University of Aarhus the second largest in Denmark. I was hired a couple of months ago to do a Virtual Tour from this school which has around 7.000 students. It is now officially launched and you can see it here at my new place for clients.

It is created with Flashpanoramas and I had almost free hands to design it. The final design is actually the second and the template for it can easy be changed to adapt different design for another University or other clients.

I have background directional sound for which I used the Edirol digital recorder.
Camera Canon 5D with a shaved Tokina 10-17mm. Most of them made at 12mm which corresponds to 8mm on a small sensor. Stitched in PTGui.

I have done some research into what Virtual Tours the large universities have and I have to say that the development during the last 7 years is practically none. Even the large universities like Harward have Virtual Tours with 300x400 pixels QTVR as they had when I got interested in VR back in 1999.

The Universities was among the first to adapt QTVR and I can not understand that it has not been targeted more as a potential client among VR Photographers.

Re: University Virtual Tour in Fullscreen Flash

Wonderful effort Hans. Your use of sound and full screen flash is very effective.
I also cannot understand why VR photographers don't market to universities more.
As you may know I produced the VR content for Harvard's virtual tour --- way back in
1998 -- when we had to keep the image sizes small for dial up viewers.

Perhaps IVRPA should hold a "campus" virtual tour competition :-)
