what price your charge for object movie ?
hi all,
A client asked me to do a in-door obejct movie for a normal 10cm tall doll on turn table. So would like to find out how much do you really charge for below scenario :
1. single row horizontal x 12 shoot
2. single row horizontal x 16 shoot
3. single row 90 degree (doll rest or sleep on one side) x 12 shoot
4. single row 90 degree (doll rest or sleep on one side) x 16 shoot
5. multirow combination of 2 and 4.
If neccessary , maybe some minor post-processing in ps or overlap hotspot and finally comapany logo at the background wall of each picture. that's it . so what do you guys charge for that ?
Is size of object and weight will differ pricing strategy ? thanks.

Re: what price your charge for object movie ?
I see nobody replied to this thread, and I wonder why? Is this such a big secret? ;)
I am also very interested in this topic, and I couldn't find anywhere any info related to the costs of making a object movie. I would be very happy if someone could point me in the right direction...
Thanks!
Re: what price your charge for object movie ?
For me it is to hard to give a cost estimate in a condition like this.
Is this only one product for a customer or could they have more.
In our process, I need to know if the final is going to be on white or black and what colors are in the doll.
As a rule of thumb for me. A single row at 3ft by 3ft by 3ft or less with 24 images and a color that contrasts to the background would run $200 to $250 usd
Now if you had 100 objects that price is greatly changed. Scale of numbers make it much easier to produce 100 dolls then one(per doll).

Hi Daleylay et al:
Probably the best way to go about charging for Object VR is to go about it the same way as other types -- How long will it take you? How difficult is the object to light? How difficult is the post-production (ie, none or are you dropping the objects out of the background completely)? What's the timeline? The end use? Your overhead? Your profit?
$200-250 per object sounds pretty low to me, given the quality of your work, Matt.

Re: what price your charge for object movie ?
hi guy,
yes i agree that price depend on many factors and some of them related to photograper own preferrence. But from Malaysia country where i come from, this is a new industrial and I might be one of the pioneer (I not sure, correct me if wrong). Everyone here just guessing around. THis makes thing even harder. I need to have a base standard and start point to some countries i think maybe relevant to me at this moment. From there, add on my own workflow, style etc...final hope to come out a general fomula and man/hour rate. Hence my general question here to attract general anaswer.
hope to get someone from other country and Asia pacific drop a message here. Thanks.
Daley.
