product vr (multi view)

I stitch together panoramas, have done some Quicktime VRs (can't find my software) and need to find a solution to create a product VR where we can look at the top, bottom, turn the product around and zoom in. Any suggestions out there? thomas

There are a number of products that can create full 360° x 360° images like you're describing.

We need to know a little more about your equipment and how you want to use the final product to make a suggestion

Re: product vr (multi view)

as an all media specialist I have commercial photography, video, and animation relatively under control. The likely use would be for the web and possibly a flash friendly shareware software might be the way to go. Ease of use and cost are factors - I would think that 12 still frames would be adequate for a 360 degree spin and multiply that by 12 for adequate 3D 360?

Re: product vr (multi view)

Hi Thomas:

Do you need info regarding shooting the products, or info regarding the delivery? Or both? :)

For the delivery, I recommend Flash -- there are several off-the-shelf Flash viewers out there, and it's not too difficult to find folks who can custom create them for your specific needs.

You don't need, necessarily, to invest in any specific software to create the 360 product -- Flash for instance can let you simply load the individual photographs & then display them to the user. Example. I custom did mine, but something as simple as the one at yofla.com might suit your needs.
