Nikon p5100 and FC-E8?

I have successfully tested an FC-E8 Fisheye adapter on my ancient Nikon 990, but I want higher resolution. I see many using this fisheye on the p5000 with good results, but can it be used on the new 12 megapixel p5100? Does it take a particular adapter? I see on DPREVIEW that the 5100 sensor is listed as 1/1.72" vs. 1/1.8" for the 5000, does that make a difference? Ideally I would like a 2 shot stitch.
Eventually I will need to spring for a Sigma 8mm for my D70 but until I can generate some revenue I can't justify the cost.
I would appreciate any help you could give me, particularly if you have an FC-E8 mounted on a p5100.

Ooops!
So sorry everyone, but after posting my question I found everything I needed over on the Real Estate forum. I won't post again without checking.
By the way, Nikon 5100's are under $300 in my neck of the woods... Toronto, Canada
