Can anyone help with stitching some iPIX fisheye hemis and provide the equi - will pay!
Hi there,
Hope this message is okay to post? If not I assume a moderator will remove it or tell me where I can put it :)
As the subject states we are looking for someone who has the iPIX software who can stitch together a bunch of 2-fisheye images (hemis) and then provide us with the resulting equi-rectangle images.
We used to have the licence but we have scaled back on the amount of virtual tours we do and so the cost of the licence versus the number of tours we would do in a year is too much to be profitable.
We are looking around at other options but our camera kits are all for the iPIX setup and don't want to invest too much in new equipment yet (as we don't get many tours to do).
In the meantime I have a couple of regular clients who want me to update their tours in the next couple of weeks but we have no licence to use the iPIX stitching software. Is there anyone out there, for a fee of course, willing to help us out?
Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Sarah

You could just use software like ptgui. It will stitch two fisheye images together. Perhaps not quite a automatically as ipix but probably more accuratly being more modern. Its a little intimidating but pretty easy really. Its about 80 euros for the basic version. Which is a little pricey but no more than you'd have to pay someone for an afternoon of stitching and if you do it yourself you will be much more in control.
Your ipix cameras should still just produce jpg images that you can load into ptgui just a easily and get an equiangular image out.
