QTVR to equirectangular jpg

Hello to all,

I am a newbie here and started practicing VR Photography.

Is it possible to convert a .mov QTVR file to equirectangular jpg file, if so how to do it?

If not, at least to six cube faces jpgs/tiffs ?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: QTVR to equirectangular jpg

I know Autodesk/Realviz Stitcher Unlimited 5.7 and iPIX Interactive Studio with the Format Pack can make the conversion from QTVR to Equirectangular Projections.

Stitcher can also convert to 6 cubic faces, while iIS can convert to a Cubic Strip made up of the the 6 faces

I'm sure there are other products that can do what you want

Re: QTVR to equirectangular jpg

I use a Vista PC and a Macintosh. Stitcher 5.7 allows the render of a equirectangular. On the Mac, in addition to Stitcher 5.7, I find CubicConverter to be invaluable for a quick conversion to equirectangular, cube faces, (for edits in Photoshop) and to Quicktime Movie again. CubicConnector for quick creation of multinode QuickTime Movies is also great for the price.

Free

QMOV2JPG.EXE at http://advsys.net/ken/kube/kube.htm will extract a jpeg if its stored as a jpeg. A little fiddly, you have to approach it with a sort of dos comand line way if I remember right but it did work. Probably your best bet if on a low budget.

ExtractJpeg.exe from http://webuser.hs-furtwangen.de/~dersch/ will extract the tiles if you drag and drop a mov onto it and have panotools installed. http://photocreations.ca/panotools/index.html for panottools. May be not the effect you are looking for though.

Paid

Immervisions pure tools software from http://www.immervision.com can extract a jpg from a mov file but costs money.

Pano2vr can do it too but also costs money.
