Hi Sam, thanks for your
Hi Sam, thanks for your offer to help. I'ld like to stay with Drupal forums for a while. Reasons for staying with the Drupal-based forum include:
- single signon to the site and forum
- single search facility for the whole site
- single, consistent way of posting content to the site
- integration of eg block of latest/active discussions on the front page
- single, consistent look
- lower chances of things breaking when either the website or the forum needs a (security) update
- lower chances of causing security holes by opening connections between two systems/databases
What are the specific features of phpbb you are missing in the current forum? We can probably 'meet halfway' by implementing these features in the Drupal forums.
Is there a way to thread
Is there a way to thread things by date posted, rather than having comment replies go under the specific comment? To me, that would make following a meta-discussion easier.
Also, is it possible to get notified when a comment or reply is posted to one of my posts?
If I've missed it, feel free to shake me down.
:)

threading
It should now possible to change the comment display options from a threaded to a flat list.
Email notification is currently a bit more tricky, we are 'shopping' for a better host, with decent support for mailers.
Ah, my little brain can stop working so hard now...
Thanks Aldo, for making the threading option possible!

phpBB non merci, but a topic
phpBB non merci, but a topic subscription would be nice together with a consistent threading as Patrick suggested, I'm in for that as it would make it easier to follow up discussions (I'm a punbb admin if you care to know ;-)
subscriptions
It's a bit experimental, but members can now subscribe to topics, as well as blogs, and 'categories'. These categories are basically the forums you have access to.
Re: subscriptions
Well done so far. Still a bit more detailed forum structure would be great. Directing me to a LSP forum section is excellent, but the other sections are less clear. I have to wade through the single threads there.
Yours,
Michael
