Totally Hip's Status?

First of all, THANK YOU, Patrick, for setting this up for all of us Live Stage users.

Does anyone know the state of affairs at Totally Hip? I've been trying to buy some academic licenses from them, but our department secretary can't seem to get anyone to call her back from the company. This has been going on for the past week.

I haven't heard anything directly from THS in quite some time... Through the grapevine, though, I have heard two interesting tidbits:

1) THS may have bowed to investor pressure, viz. http://www.totallyhippoker.com/

2) Steve, Selwyn and Amrik have a new home at http://www.edgestate.com/

Well, at least the brains got out...

I'm glad that Steve and the guys are still providing expertise for those who need multimedia programming assistance. Their Cornell Ornithology Lab project keeps winning awards!

But the poker site? Not too surprising, since just the other day I was at the THS main site and browsed their "Flash Hip Clip" samples (not even QT) and was pretty much stunned by how bad it all was. I actually felt compelled to email them and point out the glaring misspellings ("beuty") and correctable Flash errors that are on display. How a mighty name has fallen... but I have no idea who (if anyone) is pushing the levers behind that curtain now.

Looks like all that's left is a domain name and someone left holding a bag of dongles.

Besides the dongles, there's lots of people holding $.30 pieces of paper.

Speaking of brains, anyone know where Randall ended up?

I too would very much like to know if anyone has a current status on THP.

I've been trying for a week to reach them to get a trial version license so I can play with/evaluate ... server's down, nobody answers the phone ...

Anyone have any updated info?
