I need help... badly

I posted this on the Members forum, but i figured the people on this forum probably have a lot more direct experience with the problems i'm having....

I'll start from the beginning.

I saw Virtual Tours as a great business opportunity where i live... real estate is going crazy, and none of the real estate agencies had any virtual tours.

So, using the camera/tripod i already owned, i took a few panoramic shots of my living room, and stitched them together. It worked, so I started thinking about actually making it a business.

After my first client, i realized that QTVR was not going to work , since she did not have the plugin on her computer, and most people browsing for houses don't have quicktime. So i bought a program that converts the panorama's into Java and Flash (VR Brochure - $299). I completed her tour and joined picturepath, so i could post to realtor.com etc. and she seemed happy enough. Now more than ever i saw this as a viable business.

2 months later, no one else was biting at my prices I had set. Finally, we persisted enough and got 3 seperate clients at once.

Now, i've shot all 4 houses, and i know that my camera is not built for the job i'm putting it to, and the tripod is normal(no panoramic attachment), but i figured i could get started with the equipment i had, and buy the panoramic attachment and a better camera once i had a little extra money put aside.

I seem to have gotten myself in over my head, and I think I'm stuck. I have tons of folders of pictures, and they just aren't lining up perfectly, which i blame on the lack of a panoramic tripod. but i can fix that with a little photoshop wizardry.

The main problem i'm having is the virtual tours just aren't coming together. I have no idea the best way to go about putting a virtual tour i've made into my client's website, whether java is the best way to go about it, and if i wasted $300 buying this virtual tour software that seems incredibly buggy. I've experimented with ptviewer but it did not seem to work for me, then i find out that it DOES work, just not on my computer so well.

Me and my girlfriend have recently run into a rough patch, partially based on the lack of success with these virtual tours, and now, the completion of these tours needs to pay rent... however, i dont want to put out a product that looks like crap, and i can't afford to buy any new equipment. I've missed the 30 day refund policy of VRBrochure, so i think i'm stuck with it, buggy or not. We made the mistake of doing the tour before getting paid, primarily because I was not confident in my skills because i had never done it before, so i didnt want them to have paid me and still fail.

At this point, I wish i could just give up, but i dont feel like getting evicted from my house.

Does anyone who reads this board have any advice for me? i know that i've gotten myself in over my head, but i have to be able to save this.

Thanks for reading my cry for help, if you have any advice, i'd love any i can get... emails can be sent to mgardiner@boone-tours.com or tahoma.local@gmail.com thanks.

Re: I need help... badly

This unswer is a bit late, but maybe still quite helpful. The problem you are having is very common. First of all you need to relize that a good panorama is a lot of work, a good panorama needs deep knowledge of a good soft for panoramas and photoshop (or anything to work with layers), a good panorama needs time to make. Now, in my opinion PTGui is best for stitching, but best doesn'y mean perfect), its autoamtic panorama alighn works quite well, but the thing I point this sift is ability to generate ps with layers for further postprocessing, PTGui, by using using Panorama Tools learns how it would be best to bent the photos. Then after this part is done, you should open the file in photoshop and correct the erros. Some general info about panorama stitching and PTGui is im my tootorials: http://lookdigital.pl/tutorials_en.htm
