Updates from Iceland

I returned from Iceland 3 weeks ago. Not many QTVRs shot there, but a flurry of panoramas of lesser width than 360 degrees. The stories are all here:

It looks like everyone had a terrific trip to Yosemite after the IVRPA Conference. I wish I could have gone too.

Cheers, Rusty

Adobe PhotoShop Lightroom is out

It looks promising, but isn't PS CS3 still in beta?

Julieanne Kost & Lightroom

Today I attended a presentation by Julieanne Kost, presented by the New England School of Photography in Boston.
Many of you may know Julieanne as one of Adobe's chief evangelists. (I haven't used Lightroom, but I was quite impressed with its
feature set.)

Notes: Lightroom to begin shipping in early 2007. Adobe Bridge will not go away. Most photographers will not need Bridge.
Lightroom will utilize a plug in architecture, like PS. (Could this be useful for HDR or Panoramas??)
Julieanne was demoing a beta of Lightroom that was only two days old, and not available to the public at press time.

Free Adobe Light Room sessions

IVRPA members are invited to free lectures and seminars given by a world-class photographer and an Adobe expert as they share insights on photography and the digital workflow.

Hear from world-class photographer Colin Finlay and learn more about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (a new application for importing, managing, developing and showcasing large photo collections) at 25 universities across the US. On the first day or evening, Finlay will share his 17-year career as a photographer, including commercial work as well as documentation of social issues such as wars and famine. The following day, Adobe's Senior Evangelist Julieanne Kost, will provide an in-depth seminar on using Photoshop and Photoshop Lightroom to support a digital workflow in digital imaging software.
