Revisionist Histories, or "When Copyright [possibly] goes too far"

Here is an interesting post from Adobe evangelist Serge Jespers, regarding the potential removal ("photoshopping") of a Belgian landmark from photos in an exhibition.

http://www.webkitchen.be/2008/04/07/when-does-copyrighting-go-too-far/

Also, if you follow through the comments, you'll see a (not surprising, I suppose) link to a NYT article regarding photography and other imagery of the Lone Cypress (which is practically a California landmark), use of which is being disputed by the tree's owner: Pebble Beach Company.

An alternative to photoshop ?

if you're on a mac, think cs3 is outrageously expensive and gimp sucks, coming next is pixelmator http://www.pixelmator.com/ if nothing else, it's damn sexy and built on open source !

PhotoShop World, Boston, April 2007

http://www.photoshopworld.com/

Maybe it's the lobster or the clam chowder (it's certainly not the weather), but
PhotoShopWorld, the annual conference of the National Association of PhotoShop
Professionals is gathering in Boston in April. 2007.
I know there is some "synergy" here between IVRPA and industrial strength
users of PS. I know, IVRPA has produced a virtual tour of Boston, that could
be re-purposed for Photoshop world, to help people get oriented.
But what other "connections" are there. Any IVRPA members attending?
(We could meet for lobstah or chowdah :-)

Adobe PhotoShop Lightroom is out

It looks promising, but isn't PS CS3 still in beta?

Adobe Bridge

I had a chance to play with Adobe Bridge today, and I noticed that
the Adobe Photographers Directory is integrated into the selections.
IVRPA members are well represented in the APD, under "Virtual Reality".
Also, if you are a IVRPA member, you can qualify to be listed in the APD.
