Scene in Santa Fe LLC invites everyone to take a tour of our different* part of the world. Now mostly out of beta status :-), everyone with QuickTime or Java is capable of seeing some of what makes Santa Fe, Santa Fe.
Survey of market penetration of various plug-in technologies (Flash, Java, QuickTime, etc)
Submitted by cheathamlane on Sat, 2007-01-20 17:20.This survey link was forwarded to me by a fellow VR Photographer, and I thought it might be of interest -- Several times a year someone asks about where to find surveys such as this.
The study was performed by consumer market research organization Millward Brown, and
"The goal of this proprietary study commissioned by Adobe Systems, Inc. is to track and compare Plug-In technology used to view content on the web"
QuickTime video player for pro music/audio tutorials
Submitted by cheathamlane on Thu, 2006-10-12 01:33.OK, so QuickTime isn't just for QTVR, right? :-)
After a minor delay, replacing a couple Flash tracks with Sprite and Text ones (due to the QT 7.1.3 update), the QuickTime-based video players for my client Groovebox have gone live!
I worked with Groovebox to create a new delivery mechanism for their Web-based tutorials (Pro Tools, GarageBand, Cubase, etc).

New forum for LiveStage Pro / QuickTime Developers
Submitted by cheathamlane on Fri, 2006-09-22 01:55.It was suggested to me (by an ex-THS person) that someone not affiliated with Totally Hip Software should start their own email list for the developer community... I don't really have the wherewithal to do that at my own site, nor do I think THS is duty-bound to provide one to its software users, but I do miss the interaction with other developers. I have had quite a few direct inquires regarding the list, to which I just have to shrug my shoulders in response... :(
So, in light of the fact that the LSP email list has been down for many weeks now, I've gotten us public (and archiveable!) forum space at the new IVRPA Web site. I know that many of us are (QT)VR developers, so it seemed natural to me that the IVRPA could host discussion space for LSP developers.
QuickTime 7.1.3, Flash content, and you (2)
Submitted by cheathamlane on Sun, 2006-09-17 01:15.This is an update to my earlier post regarding the sudden decision by Apple to disable by default any Flash content/tracks embedded in a QuickTime movie.
It turns out that Apple's decision is because of "critical vulnerabilities" identified in Flash Player versions 8.0.24.0 and earlier
QuickTime 7.1.3, Flash content, and you
Submitted by cheathamlane on Thu, 2006-09-14 19:24.QuickTime 7.1.3 by default will disable any Flash media embedded in a QuickTime movie. spinControl:VR is an interactive QT movie, and relies heavily on embedded Flash media. So, it appears broken when viewed using the latest QT update. Apple has blindsided potentially thousands of content developers out there who might use Flash media inside their QT movies.
spinControl:VR - a custom alternative to the standard QTVR controller
Submitted by cheathamlane on Sat, 2006-08-12 17:29.People who want to offer an alternative to the limited, standard QuickTime VR controller can now do so -- without having to design one, & then spend hours coding it for themselves.
spinControl:VR is a custom QuickTime movie which, when embedded in a Web page with a QuickTime VR, can control the QTVR's pan, tilt and zoom ...and more! New: AutoTilt , AutoSpin and AUDIO CONTROL!
