This is a VRtour put together of Hedgewood Homes in Atlanta, Georgia. We worked on these over the past couple of years. Each VR is a mix of natural and artificial lighting.
Seams in QuickTime and Flash
Submitted by Christopher Glick on Sat, 2008-03-08 12:26.Disclaimer: I'm a hobbyist with only the most rudimentary graphic editing skills.
Over much of the past year, I made QTVR panoramas with PTMac. My 6 horiztonal shots stitched wonderfully, but adding the zenith often caused errors with seams, in the triangle formed by the zenith shot and the first and last horizontal shots. Usually the error would be a small section off by 1-3 pixels. I'm working on acquiring the graphic editing skills to take care of such errors.
Nisus QTVR CDR: "Kyoto Gardens"
Submitted by Christopher Glick on Sat, 2008-03-08 12:10.I began using Nisus Writer 6.5 perhaps with Mac OS 8. An English teacher, I am constantly writing activities, articles, and handouts, for which I rely on Nisus Writer Pro. Though a software house, Nisus also sells a CD, Kyoto Gardens. Here's the product blurb:
Kyoto Gardens: A Virtual Stroll Through Zen Landscapes utilizes Apple Computer's QuickTime VR technology to "walk through" 24 of Kyoto's most renowned gardens.
Alternate viewers on photokina.ivrpa.org
Submitted by Aldo Hoeben on Wed, 2006-10-11 10:43.Not many will have noticed, but there is support for alternate viewers on the photokina site.
Support for DevalVR has been there during the last days of 'kina, but due to time limitations I added SPi-V support only yesterday. I also meant to add PTViewer as an option, but at this time that has not yet been enabled due to the infamous memory limitations; PTViewer just won't load the 5000x2500 pixel equirectangulars.
New forum for LiveStage Pro / QuickTime Developers
Submitted by cheathamlane on Fri, 2006-09-22 01:55.It was suggested to me (by an ex-THS person) that someone not affiliated with Totally Hip Software should start their own email list for the developer community... I don't really have the wherewithal to do that at my own site, nor do I think THS is duty-bound to provide one to its software users, but I do miss the interaction with other developers. I have had quite a few direct inquires regarding the list, to which I just have to shrug my shoulders in response... :(
So, in light of the fact that the LSP email list has been down for many weeks now, I've gotten us public (and archiveable!) forum space at the new IVRPA Web site. I know that many of us are (QT)VR developers, so it seemed natural to me that the IVRPA could host discussion space for LSP developers.
IPIX intellectual property assets for sale
Submitted by cheathamlane on Mon, 2006-08-21 20:18.Scott Highton gives us a well-reasoned [as usual Scott :) ] post to the Apple QuickTime-VR email list, regarding his thoughts on the recent iPix demise and possible developments concerning what-this-means for related patents and us as QT/VR developers.
Scott also rightly suggests that this should be an important topic of discussion amongst VR photographers and developers. Here, or more properly in the forums, could be a good place to start.
