Fine art Flash Web site

Thought I'd share this one with everyone -- there are some final Ts to cross and Is to dot, but the site is live. :) This is my first full-on foray into writing code solely in AS3, for those who care about such things.

This site for Hung Liu, San Francisco Bay Area based fine artist, was just about the first job of mine in 2007 that wasn't based around panoramas. Or so I thought...

CheathamLane on iPhone

Having some fun with iPhone; except for photography, have the CheathamLane Web site visible to iPhone in an iPhone-specific format (a la iUI) .

I still need to "pretty it up", but the basics are there (thanks Joe!). Interestingly, iPhone specific links such as <a href="tel:1-510-868-9120">(510) 868.9120</a>, and some regular http links, don't seem to work from my pages.

Free Pano2QTVR HTML Template file (full screen and spinControl:VR savvy too!)

I created an HTML template for use with Pano2QTVR, in response to several recent requests. spinControl:Linguist users who also use Pano2QTVR can drop this HTML template file into Pano2QTVR's HTML folder, and then choose it when outputting QTVR & HTML from Pano2QTVR.

New forum for LiveStage Pro / QuickTime Developers

It was suggested to me (by an ex-THS person) that someone not affiliated with Totally Hip Software should start their own email list for the developer community... I don't really have the wherewithal to do that at my own site, nor do I think THS is duty-bound to provide one to its software users, but I do miss the interaction with other developers. I have had quite a few direct inquires regarding the list, to which I just have to shrug my shoulders in response... :(

So, in light of the fact that the LSP email list has been down for many weeks now, I've gotten us public (and archiveable!) forum space at the new IVRPA Web site. I know that many of us are (QT)VR developers, so it seemed natural to me that the IVRPA could host discussion space for LSP developers.

Cubic VR in Flash -- Almost there?

Thomas Rauscher announced very recently a modular addition to his software, called "FlashPack". FlashPack will allow Pano2QTVR users to export fully cubic Flash-based panoramas, which can then be displayed solo on the Web or (I assume) as integrated into an interactive Flash-based project.

Cubic VR in Flash -- not quite yet?

I was an early adopter & beta tester of Christian Stehle's FlashVR, which allows you to display perspective corrected cylindrical panoramas in Flash. It works best when displaying at small sizes -- because FlashVR is doing lots of masking and math to create the perspective-correct view, and because Flash itself is a processor hog. You can see an example of how I use it at my own site in the gallery, or at a client's site by following the portfolio link there.
