Aperture: GPS to Google Maps

I use Apple's Aperture software quite a lot, but haven't really got into GPS stuff (yet). Anyway, someone on the Aperture support forum asked if there was a way to select an image containing GPS data, and use it to go to that location on a Google Maps web-page.

Well, now there is. :-)

GPS to Google Maps URL script

This is a little AppleScript that will grab the latitude and longitude from the EXIF data, make a GM-style URL and open it in a new Safari window.

Have fun,

Ian

Still image gallery

Nearly there... The still image gallery is now online, and every member can post up to 8 still images.

Check out the neigh-magical lightbox trickery in the gallery; click on a thumbnail to get some scriptaculous ajax goodness. Don't forget to hover the image, you should see prev and/or next 'areas' to get you to the other images.

Other things to look for are tag clouds to explore the images that will be posted on the site by all members. The tagclouds are a bit partial to my tastes right now, because I am the only one posting stuff. But they should get a lot more interesting, giving an idea what software and/or equipment is used by the IVRPA membership.
