Best Virtual Tour Creation Software

Hi everyone ...

I'm a 360 panoramic photographer who also creates equirectangular images to produce full screen Flash / Quicktime virtual tours .

I'd like to supply hotels etc with the full virtual tour website package so wonder what is the best Virtual Tour Creation software on the market ? Ideally Mac based, but could use Windows on my Intel Mac.

Sunex 185° Superfisheye 5.6mm F/5.6

As a virtual tour photographer who got started with iPIX and their two hemisphere (fisheye) capture, I've always preferred capture methods with as few shot/positions as practical.

I've long retired by Nikon Coolpix 5400, Nikon FC-E9 Fisheye Converter and iPIX Rotator, but still appreciate the simplicity of the setup

Today I use a Canon XTi that has a 10 megapixel cropped sensor for both still photos and virtual images.

Fish eye lens

Hi guys!

Just soliciting ideas and comments which lens between nikkor 10.5mm and the new samyang ae 8mm is best buy and has better output? I've used nikkor 10.5mm already on my first virtual tour project and i find it great already. Although my concern every time I stitch it through panoweaver, there is always an orphaned image most likely either the 7th or 8th frame. But then, I still manage to stitch it by doing it manually.

360 Degree Camera - GiroCAM Demo and Overview

I just purchased this unit and wanted to share my findings.

So here is a quick overview demo of the NEW GiroCAM made by Giroptic at www.girocam.com

http://www.youtube.com/embed/y-SY_nkLx3g?rel=0

This unit is sold at http://www.kolor.com/girocam-360-camera-by-giroptic-and-kolor.html.

Personally, I think its a little pricy for its quality but a good start toward this type of technology. But let me know what you think?

Looking for current information on "object" based panorama technology (i.e. camera looking in, not out)

Hello,

I used to be very involved in QTVR, iPix (even VRML!) years ago, but it's been around 8 years since I've done anything in this space.

However, I now have a need to do some projects that will involve VERY large QTVR type objects. What I mean is that instead of the image being projected on a virtual sphere with the viewpoint in the center, I need the object in the center and the view-point revolving around that center point.

I've been googling for the better part of a day, and it seems that no one cares about that any more. :( Everything I see is panorama (i.e. looking out)

More Help and Information needed

Also in Beginner mode and after reading some of the information available from the internet, it is concluded that it is sparse because I can not find the document from beginning to end (VT), the process is not well known (I speak of the group photographers that I know) and thus I have had difficulty in obtaining positive results, in a consistent manner.

Recently outfitted with the help of SKIVR, I use a Nikon D7000 Tokina 10-17mm, mounted on a NN4 with RD16.

Flash and Quicktime 360 tours on Apple iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch

Hi everyone !

I understand that the new Apple iPad (and iPhone / iPod Touch) do not support 360 Flash based virtual tours. This is a real problem for 360 providers like us.

Does anyone know if the new iPad (or iPhone / iPod Touch) support Apple Quicktime virtual tours ? I don't own any of these items so can't experiment myself.

Has any body else done any work on getting Analytics of their Tours?

I just tried adding the Google Analytics code to a Tourweaver tour and am getting how many times the tour is beeing looked at and, contrary to accepted thinking, a Length of time on the tour. I'm not getting which scenes are being viewed though

Here's a screen capture of the Google Analytics report for the first day

www.vabq.com/ivrpa/GA_TW.jpg

For Sale: Kaidan Meridian C60

I have a complete, fully functional Kaidan Meridian C60. This is a complete unit with an extra turntable able to hold up to 300 pounds.

This is a hard to find piece of equipment that retails for over $18,000 plus. I need the extra space in my studio and would be willing to part with it for $5,500 OBO.

If you would like any additional photos or would like to get more information. Please visit:

http://www.kaidan.com/products/mc60.html

Anyone seen the new VRstation camera?

This new camera was on show in Washington and appears to do everything at the touch of a single button,
including the unwrapping and tone mapping of images.
Its meant to be the equivalent of a 5 or 8 Mpix camera using a single shot lens.

This would mean that tours would take minutes to create instead of spending time post processing back on the computer.
It certainly looks cool. The website is http://www.VRstation.net

Not sure when its for sale, does anyone know?
