More Help and Information needed

Also in Beginner mode and after reading some of the information available from the internet, it is concluded that it is sparse because I can not find the document from beginning to end (VT), the process is not well known (I speak of the group photographers that I know) and thus I have had difficulty in obtaining positive results, in a consistent manner.

Recently outfitted with the help of SKIVR, I use a Nikon D7000 Tokina 10-17mm, mounted on a NN4 with RD16.

Flash and Quicktime 360 tours on Apple iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch

Hi everyone !

I understand that the new Apple iPad (and iPhone / iPod Touch) do not support 360 Flash based virtual tours. This is a real problem for 360 providers like us.

Does anyone know if the new iPad (or iPhone / iPod Touch) support Apple Quicktime virtual tours ? I don't own any of these items so can't experiment myself.

Virtual Tour Analytics

Has any body else done any work on getting Analytics of their Tours?

I just tried adding the Google Analytics code to a Tourweaver tour and am getting how many times the tour is beeing looked at and, contrary to accepted thinking, a Length of time on the tour. I'm not getting which scenes are being viewed though

Here's a screen capture of the Google Analytics report for the first day

I'm a 360 panoramic photographer who also creates equirectangular images to produce full screen Flash / Quicktime virtual tours .

Anyone seen the new VRstation camera?

This new camera was on show in Washington and appears to do everything at the touch of a single button,
including the unwrapping and tone mapping of images.
Its meant to be the equivalent of a 5 or 8 Mpix camera using a single shot lens.

This would mean that tours would take minutes to create instead of spending time post processing back on the computer.
It certainly looks cool. The website is http://www.VRstation.net

Not sure when its for sale, does anyone know?

Anyone demo the inexpensive E-filming Digital Drive Panorama Base PS-30B?

A friend of mine went to a New York photo show and got a demo of a chinese mechanical pano head that's selling for $550 at adorama. He's not a pano shooter, so couldn't give any details. Have any of you gotten a chance to demo this?

http://www.adorama.com/CZBEF300.html

This is the distributers page

I think it looks promising. Too bad the gigapan people don't come out with similar.

Convert images (or.mov) to ipx (Ipix) format

Hi,

I was wondering if someone can convert quicktime 360 files into iPix (.ipx) format.
I can either deliver a .mov file or deliver .jpg files (cube faces).

The only thing that needs to be done is import the files and convert it to .ipx.

Can anybody help out?

Kind regards,
The best panoramic head???

Hi everybody,

I am just looking for advice/recommendations for panoramic heads. I am a student and I don't have a massive budget's so I am looking for the best and affordable options.

I have had the luxury of using a 360Precision Absolute head a few times but this would be to expensive for me plus I am not so keen that it doesn't have a locking feature on the base.

Any suggestions would be a huge help.

Thanks for your time.

Best way to do QTVR in a Mac?

I have a client that needs a QTVR panoramic picture where his clientes can navegate trought the ambient pictures in his website.

I got myself Nodal Ninja 3 and have been doing some tests with PTGui, PTMac and some other softwares more or less sucessfull.
The problem is, I still haven't found a way to make the QTVR pictures so he can upload to his website for the clients.

What software do I need for this job apart from let's say PTgui?

I'm planing to do 360* horizontal and vertical images. That kind where you can put a circle on the tripod area with your logo, contact and Copyright.

We have reached a major milestone in our efforts to get rid of the '400 patent. All the legal work is done for the reexamination request to the US Patent Office. What we still need to wrap this up is money, about $5000 worth.

A couple points I think people will find interesting:

Globorama - Lawsuit against the ZKM, state of affairs

On December 7th, 2009 we have posted on the WWP-list, that we have filed a lawsuit against Mr. Lintermann and against the ZKM with a German court of justice. Our aim was to fight through a precedence for those photographers who did not want to take the risk of a case in court.

New to VR with so many questions but will start with 2

Hello -

My wife and I are very new to the world of panoramic photography / virtual tour photography but are having a blast so far. We have so many questions and, like anything else, we know that some things just come with time.

That being said, I have a few questions that I would like to pose to those of you who are more experienced.

The first being:

Is it necessary to pay for hosting to an entity such as Real Tour Vision or Voyager International or anyone else for that matter?

Second:

Software to move prospective

I'm just starting to learn about VR and looking for software for use on a Mac that would allow the viewer to move his perspective. Similar to Google maps. This would allow a user to move his perspective within an image of a room for example. Then pan and tilt his view from the new location.

I'm also looking for a way to add hot spots a person can click on to access higher resolution pictures or information. Ideally the same software would allow both.

All ideas are welcome!

Thanks

r
