I started taking VR Images in 1999. I now take QTVR and Flash VR professionally as part of a service to my design agency at www.newworlddesigns.co.uk; I prefer the panoramic images than the vr tours, as I love the effect.

I have to say I don’t really like the Chocolate box photography, you know the type, the none creative type, sun sets and sun rises, a girl running through a field etc. I have a few like this, but only because I know the general public prefer it and they sell well as images. I love architecture, long exposure night scenes, heavy cloud or atmospheric conditions, and living 2 mins walk from a beach, is great for weird effects. But anything that makes your brain work a little when you look at, it is good to me.

Best learning curve
When I was at university in the mid 90s I was set an assignment to design a beer mat and a pub sign from 2 names that we pulled out of a hat, I pulled out on 2 bits of paper, the words Canon and Star, so the pub was to be called the Canon star or the Star Canon.

The lecturer told me if you make an image with a canon firing a star out of it, I will fail you on the assignment, he said that’s the kind of junk commercial people do, as they have no thought and the creative spirit they once had has now gone.

Same goes with photography, there is a million and one ways of taking images, why does it always have to be at the sun set or rise.

By the way for the assignment I made an image of the British comedians duo Canon and Ball from the 1970’s and 80’s with a load of Stars on Bobby Balls famous braces and got a first class grade.

I spend a lot of my time either in Pubs in Newcastle and Sunderland, or climbing in the Lakes. I have a personal mission to take a virtual tour of the top of every mountain in the lakes, and then make a multi node movie allowing you to jump from one top to another. Any help mind you will be gratefully accepted. I would also like to use the domain name I have www.quicktimevirtualreality.com and open a similar project to the world wide panorama site. Where anybody can sign up and upload virtual tours that will be plotted onto Google Earth. I will not put a limit on how many you can upload, and it wont be limited to where and when it can be loaded up. But I don’t want people to think I’m trying to take the idea form any where else, as I have had this idea for years(http://www.quicktimevirtualreality.com/photographers.html scroll to the bottom), but the technology just wasn’t really there until Google earth was released, and then you guys beet me to it :).
