Zermatt is the home town of young photographer and computer scientist Matthias Taugwalder (born 1981). He is a direct descendant of the mountain guides Peter Taugwalder and his son, who, on 14 July 1865, survived the drama of the first ascent of the Matterhorn with Edward Whymper (1840-1911).
Honouring his family tradition, Matthias Taugwalder does his work without being dropped off by helicopter on mountaintops. The creation of each of his panoramic photographs involved an alpine effort.
Matthias Taugwalder has dedicated a lot of time to the artistic inventory of the Swiss Alpine panoramas. He has already digitally recorded panoramas from dozens of mountain peaks. Thanks to his trained eye as an alpinist and the high quality image technology employed, his images can be used to monitor both natural landscape changes as well as even minor human impacts on the alpine landscape.
The service offering of Concept360 encompasses everything that has to do directly or indirectly with panoramic imaging – from technical consultation on panoramic shoots to digital image editing in the giga pixel realm. With a special focus on high-alpine and high-resolution panoramic photography, but also uses of 360 panoramas for media for print/online/mobile, international search service and coordination of panoramic shoots.
