- Biography
Landis Bennett has been exploring the realm of immersive imagery since before QTVRAS. His interests in both computers and photography came together when introduced to this technology.
Landis enjoys the ability to show more of a location with a panorama than a traditional photograph and has been taking panoramas of travels across North America. His website, 360Geographics, has hundreds of panoramas from all around the United States and Canada showing tourist destinations as well as places off the beaten path.
Landis founded the World Wide Panorama in January 2004 with Don Bain and along with Markus Altendorff, the three continue to develop it as a resource and showcase for the VR Photography community.
When not working on the World Wide Panorama, he helps the International VR Photography Association (formerly the IQTVRA) as a former board member. When actually earning money he shoots VR Photography for hire (Prints are available online) as well as publishes his own line of hiking maps.
