Dee Harvey is an immersive and interactive artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is currently writing and directing an animated VR experience about miscarriage, produced by Chi Thai and executive produced by Nell Whitley (Marshmallow Laser Feast). In 2017 she was selected for Reframed, an immersive artist residency at Lighthouse in Brighton. She has over 10 years experience working as an interactive producer at the BBC and in the indie sector specialising in interactive content and social media. She studied Interactive Telecommunications at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, supported by Fulbright. As a writer her work has been supported Northern Ireland Screen and the BBC’s Writer’s Room, where she was shortlisted for the Craic Off prize in 2015. She is the writer-director of Heartbeats, an animated 360 VR experience shortlisted for the Sundance New Frontier Story Lab 2019 and the Google commissioned 180 VR project, IF.
