Berkeley 2007

The International Virtual Reality Photography Association Conference

This is the first conference of the International VR Photography Association (IVRPA, formerly IQTVRA), the organization representing the full spectrum of VR photography producers, businesses, and enthusiasts.

Prof. Helmut Dersch, author of the Panorama Tools suite of programs, will be the keynote speaker. His topic will be "Panorama Tools - Open Source Software for Immersive Imaging", presented at the banquet on Sunday night.

The conference will be held June 15-20 at the University of California Berkeley, hosted by the Geography Computing Facility in the Department of Geography. The park-like UC campus is situated at the foot of the Berkeley Hills across the bay from San Francisco.

Berkeley is easily accessible from San Francisco and San Francisco International Airport by BART (the Bay Area's rail rapid transit system). Low cost lodging has been arranged on the Berkeley campus, or attendees may make their own arrangements.

The registration fee covers coffee and pastries each morning, social events each night (including the WWP reception on Saturday and the banquet on Sunday), campus tours, use of the computer lab and campus network, plenary sessions on Sunday, and all sessions, panels, and workshops on Monday and Tuesday. There will be additional charges for field trips (to San Francisco, the Golden Gate, Alcatraz Island, and Yosemite).
