Québec City 2016

The annual event of the 360° Panoramic VR industry that you definitely do not want to miss. Whether you are just starting out, interested in learning more, or a seasoned pro, you will return from this great destination with your head full of new ideas. The program will include 5 days of incredible VR Photography Talks, Workshops and Excursions surrounded by many of the most talented members of our community.

What's new?

During Quebec City 2016, the attendees will be invited to participate to the IVRPA Quebec City Street View Challenge. The 360° panoramas will have to be 100% produced between May 20, 2016 at 0:01 and May 26, 2016 at 23:59. All entries will be displayed during the event.
Several prizes will be awarded to participants.

Discovery Day

What I hate from regular excursions is that you move around altogether so it's quite difficult to make a 360° pano without having 20 photographers in your image. I also hate that you have to be back in 45 minutes while you would have stayed at that place until sunset. So, I created a one of a kind excursion that will let you do your excursion at your own pace.

To help you scout the best locations for the IVRPA Quebec Street View Challenge, the excursion is scheduled on Monday May 23, the first day of the conference.

All participants will be invited to share a breakfast at The 3 Brewers. At 9:15, we'll go up to the Observatory of the capital to observe the geometry of the city. Thereafter, we will give you a map that will show shown the places where you will find 8 tourist guides who can give you details on their location. They will stand there for 4 hours.

You will also have a list of places where you will be admitted for free with your Conference pass. Some of these places are not part of the standard tours. For example, at the Citadelle of Québec, which houses the Royal 22nd Regiment of the Canadian army, you will have access to the officers' mess.

Those who prefer to take a walk in the countryside, Ste.Anne Canyon will wait for you. Free entrance for all participants. The Montmorency Fall is also a must during your stay.

Throughout the day, I will be your virtual guide!

Talks

As usual, talks will cover a wide range of subjects from 360º panoramas to 360º Video, from hardware to software, from commercial to artistic uses of 360º panoramic imaging.

Workshops

will include a hands on tutorial from the masterminds behind some of the best panorama creation software currently available in our industry.
