May 21, 2016 at 9:15 pm #9318Hi Sam
I’m still having problems setting the featured image, I want to upload a 14000 * 7000 panoramic photos, It is the size of the 28M, is no more than 64M ,but upload failure, ascension is as followsFile is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.
Thanks

May 21, 2016 at 10:02 pm #9323“Featured Images for Panoramas MUST be EXACTLY 1600px x 800px (not larger or smaller) 2×1 aspect ratio, under about 500kb filesize .jpg format, larger images may fail to uplaod !” [sic]
In the Pano URL at the top right you can link to a higher resolution image that is hosted online somewhere.
May 21, 2016 at 11:01 pm #9325yes, you must link to a web version (created with krpano, etc) hosted on another server, NOT the original large jpg file in the the pano URL box
IVRPA website does NOT do any sort of conversion of jpg panos into an interactive format etc, for this sort of service use 360cities, round.me etc, and use the embed url (url only, not the entire embed code) in the pano url box
thanks

June 20, 2016 at 4:03 pm #9637To post a panorama in jpeg format on my website the horizontal file resolution has to be 2000 pixels. I tried a 1600 pixel panorama as stated in the requirements for posting a jpeg in the IVR
requirements for my website but the panorama didn’t show up. When I uploaded a 2000 pixel panorama
to my website the panorama was displayed and I got a URL for the photo.
What can I do to solve this problem?
Thanks
John BlakeJune 20, 2016 at 6:10 pm #9639i am not sure how posting a pano on your own website works, this article is only about posting a pano on this IVRPA site
for posting a pano here, you need a 1600 wide px preview image, this is used to display preview on front page and sidebar etc on this site only
you also need a link to a full page panorama which can be hosted anywhere you like, but a 2000 px wide original will probably not look very good, i would recommend at least 8000 px wide originals for the panos that you are hosting yourself that are ultimately embedded here via the full page link mentioned above

June 21, 2016 at 2:05 pm #9651Thanks Sam
I guess I have to find a way to upload both 1600 pixels wide and an 8000 pixels wide sizes of the same equirectangular panorama to my website and not have the images appear on my website. I have a photo gallery named “panoramas” on my website that consists of equirectangular and cropped equirectangular jpeg images. The way that gallery was originally set up is that the panoramas had to be 1600 pixels wide in order to display properly. I have no idea who programmed my website or where that person is. I probably have to create an entirely new website.
Thanks again
John
June 21, 2016 at 2:34 pm #9652The 1600px wide image is for the “featured image” of the article/post. It doesn’t have to be posted on your own website. Then use your own larger self hosted image for the link.
June 21, 2016 at 3:18 pm #9653Thank Aaron. I assumed that the 1600px wide image had to be on my website because I thought that there had to be a URL for the image that I had to upload. It’s the URL larger 8000px wide image that’s on the server that is uploaded to the IVRPA website.
In other words I upload the 1600pix wide image itself to the IVRPA website and provide a link to the 8000pix wide image URL. is that correct?

June 21, 2016 at 3:30 pm #9654Pretty close. There are detailed instructions, but I’m traveling with just my cell phone, so you’d have to dig around and find it.
June 21, 2016 at 5:19 pm #9656I upload the 1600pix wide image itself to the IVRPA website and provide a link to the 8000pix wide image URL. is that correct?
John Blake
yes, the above statement is very close to correct
1 – you need to upload a 1600 x 800 px preview image to the ivrpa website
2 – you must provide a link to a finished full page panorama created with krpano, pano2vr, panotour, etc (not just a large jpg) in the pano url box to embed a pano in that panorama post
at some point i need to update and revise posting instructions, thanks everyone for their patience ;)

June 21, 2016 at 5:56 pm #9663Hi Sam – Seems the URL field is no longer there. I admit that I have been putting my Roundme panos in the URL but I do not have a webhost set up yet. Given Roundme is a IVRPA partner is this OK ?
Can you help me find the URL field ?
Thanks
NickJune 21, 2016 at 6:04 pm #9665see the screenshot below
pano url box is in the right column, you can drag boxes in this column up and down to change the order in which they are displayed
and yes, round.me embeds should work fine

June 21, 2016 at 6:29 pm #9669Thanks Sam. I have looked on both pc and android S6 and i do mot see the url feild in either
June 21, 2016 at 6:48 pm #9673I looked again on my PC and nothing. Just so you don’t think I am a troublemaker, find the screenshot of my draft post with all the sections in the right column collapsed and you can see there is no Pano URL section.

January 2, 2017 at 10:38 pm #11514Hi Sam,
My panos are not loading. I am directing them to my Roundme panos but they are not loading either on Chrome for PC or Chrome for Android phone. Are they loading for you ?
Thanks
NickJanuary 4, 2017 at 1:38 pm #11534your panos linked on this page
https://ivrpa.org/author/nickhobgood/
do not seem to load, looks like may be something on roundme has changed ? are other roundme embeds working properly in other places ?
thanks

January 6, 2017 at 12:45 pm #11557Hi Sam,
The Roundme folks responded and the URL needs to be in this format to work https://round.me/embed/56476/142087. I have updated my panos and they seem to work.
Thanks again
NickJuly 21, 2017 at 9:07 am #14312Hi – attempting to create my first Pano to upload. I dont use KrPano or panotoVR, how would you recommend uploading a pano to a post? Can i not just upload a file?
July 22, 2017 at 3:59 am #14321hi tom
the IVRPA site allows our members to post their bast panos and tours, but IVRPA does NOT host this content ourselves, this allows our mebers to create panos using any software or platform they wish, allowing more diversity and features etc
if you do not own any software for creating tours and do not have your own website or other hosting solution, you could use roundme as explained in the post prior to this one
thanks
sam
July 23, 2017 at 12:47 pm #14335Understood – I have published one through roundme
December 7, 2017 at 10:03 am #15214Hi Sam,
I encountered the same problem of most, it seems I’m not granted to publish because the “publish button” is disabled.
Can you please grant it?I’d like to publish and contribute with my works!
Thank you in advance.Best,
