Dear Stan,
We have just added two new Board members, Jeremiah Scott and Loren Ybarrondo, and you can see their details along with existing 2023 Board members at https://ivrpa.org/about-ivrpa/board-of-directors/
We are launching the first of a series of monthly Webinars on March 25th with a Behind the Scenes look at the Virtual Yosemite project, for details see https://ivrpa.org/webinars/virtual-yosemite/
The new board are also discussing options for a conference and we will give more details of our webinar series for this year and plans for in person conference in the near future.

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentThe Moab Conference dates have been changed from May 17-19th, to Wednesday – Friday, June 1-3rd for better viewing the Milky Way earlier. New moons are better for viewing the Milky Way as full moons overpower it. And, the Milky Way will be visible earlier in June than May. These dates are the week after Memorial Day.
More information will be coming from the committee about draft the program.

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentIVRPA President Loren Price instructed Jennifer Jaeger to issue the email calling of candidates. Jennifer sent the first email calling for candidates on November 24th, 2021 with the following timeline:
“All nominations must be received by December 9th. Voting will begin one week later on December 16th and end two weeks later on December 30th.”
Jennifer Jaeger has not responded to questions or returned replies to Members’ questions. As a result, we need to start over again and working with a new election manager, a call for candidates will be issued in the next day or so.

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentFebruary 26, 2021 at 6:18 pm in reply to: IVRPA Member Meeting – this Saturday February 20th at 16.00 UTC #26050We introduced plans for the first IVRPA Virtual Conference, over six half days between June 1 -12, 2021.
This virtual event will combine the now familiar format of cutting edge speakers and industry presentations. In addition we want to make this more than just the now ubiquitous Zoom event. We plan to utilize the power Virtual Reality to provide the elements an in person event affords, with opportunities for one to one conversation, networking, and a virtual exhibition hall.
This will also enable our presenter to go beyond what they can do at an in person event with the ability to present 360 photography, 360 video and 3D models in VR. In the meeting I gave a tour of one or two of our prototype VR environments, here is a video of the meeting and demonstration:

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentPanotourPro is a GUI interface to KRPano, which is very much alive and providing updates for PTP, that mean it should be good for the foreseeable future, if you update your KRPano license Panotour update

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentNVIDIA STUDIO DRIVER 431.70 BRINGS 30-BIT TO THE MASSES
Previously requiring a Quadro workstation card, NVIDIA’s latest Studio Driver (version 431.70, released today) has brought 30-bit color support to GeForce and TITAN cards for the first time. What does this mean? If you have an application that can take advantage of 30-bit color (such as Adobe Photoshop) and a 10-bit display panel you can now enable this without a workstation GPU upgrade (a guide to enable this with Adobe applications can be found here).
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentThe new NVIDIA Studio Driver introduces support 30-bit (aka 10-bit) color, this includes support for the GeForce 10 series, 16 series and RTX Graphics Cards. https://www.nvidia.in/Download/driverResults.aspx/149188/en-in
That means that the GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER or GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER support 10bit/30bit color and are far better performance and value than the low end Radeon Pro cards.
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentI think the AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100 4 GB Video Card is not a good choice as it represents very low performance for the price, the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4Gb has a benchmark 3 or 4 times faster at a simlar price and for anothe $50 double the memory of the Pro WX3100 https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/p/pl?N=100203018&d=Radeon%20RX%205500%20XT&Order=PRICE
Please tell me more about what software you will think you will be using to process, stitch and edit your panoramas, will you be working with RAW files or just JPG and will you be shooting brackets for HDR? And what software do you want to use for building and hosting the Virtual Tours? With those details I will be able to give you a better assessment of what is best for your build. You said you will be using a Nikon D800e and Nikkor 10.5mm, does that have the lens hood shave off or are you planning to use it with the lens hood?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentYou need a good graphics card perhaps a GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER or GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER if you can afford it – see https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_end_gpus.html
The Ryzen 5 3600 is also a lot faster if you can stretch you budget to that – see https://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
Here is a better site for assembling a parts list as they actually build PCs so there it shouldgive you an idea if all the parts are compatible with each other https://www.avadirect.com/gaming-pc/instabuilder

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentAleksandr,
The polls have been closed for over 12 hours now, when can we expect to see the results?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentI notice in the minutes recently published from July 3rd 2019 the following, I hope this helps to jog your memory: 2. Motion unanimously passed regarding Florian compensation “motion that we offer Florian
the following: 1- Vienna Main Organizer Compensation 12K, Video Tokyo COmpensation 3K”When will these videos now be available to members?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentWhy has the post I made a few days ago about this been removed, will the Tokyo Videos be reinstated as it appears the issue has now been resolved?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentSurely Candidacy posts should be to https://ivrpa.org/forums/forum/ivrpa-members-forum/2020-ivrpa-bod-election/ and not nested below Jurgen’s post where others may not see them unless they click his post. Also Instructions should clearly state where and how to post, by clicking Start a New Forum Topic on the upper right of screen. Also the original post should be by the Election manager.
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentHaving dropped the ball back in 2013, I think it is now time for the IVRPA to take a lead on this by using it’s contacts in the industry to put together a fighting fund the finally quash this Patent – Google (Street View) and Facebook (360) alone could afford to provide significant funding that would be a drop in the bucket for them, and then industry software companies and camera companies too, as well as IVRPA sponsors and members could chip in, all who will ultimately benefit. If this is allowed to continue it will only get worse and could become a major headache for the industry, and drive many IVRPA members out of the business.

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentOctober 18, 2019 at 9:45 pm in reply to: Being sued for virtual tour patent — IVRPA referenced. Real or Scam? #23246Please see my post on this topic that I have raised in the Members Forum.
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentLoren, when you say you are working with Jurgen and the BoD to resolve these issues, does that mean you are also getting answers to the question you raised about “some questionable expenses”, does that include the $23k missing from the Vienna event organizer and the missing videos from Tokyo, which seem to have been removed by the same actor?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentThank you for the clarification, and looking forward to the newsletter for further details. Perhaps a quarterly newsletter would be a useful addition in aiding communication with and between IVRPA members. In the newsletter please can you also address the situation with the IVRPA Conference Videos for Vienna and Belfast which have yet to be explained.
Brian Richards
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentNow it seems that most of the Belfast 2019 session videos have been posted for member access, but still no sign of ‘Degrees of Freedom’ by Thomas Sharpless and ‘360 Stories with Impact’ by Joergen Geerds & Uli Futschik and Stitching of Stereo 360º Panoramas’ by Antonio V. Garcia-Serrano, and also the panel discussions?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentUsually this requires you set up a local host server as the error message says see https://krpano.com/tools/ktestingserver/#top
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentAre there any more videos from Belfast to be posted, what about ‘Degrees of Freedom’ by Thomas Sharpless and ‘360 Stories with Impact’ by Joergen Geerds & Uli Futschik and Stitching of Stereo 360º Panoramas’ by Antonio V. Garcia-Serrano, and more, and also the panel discussions?
Brian Richards
IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentJürgen, I find your statement rather strange. In encouraging us to “please cast your vote for the currently sitting board members, Karyn Laudisi, Tanja Barnes, Florian Frey and Jürgen Schrader.” you thus do not appear to support our current board VP, this seems some what what divisive. Also as you have been on the BoD since 2009 don’t you think it is about time to step aside?

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentDear IVRPA BoD members,
First I would like to thank the BoD for all their efforts in putting on another fantastic conference which I greatly enjoyed watching online, and hope to attend in person next year. But I must reiterate Luc Villeneuve’s concerns about the lack of Financial Reports and BoD Minutes since 2016 and also add the absence of any video of the Members Meeting since 2016. We do not want to see a rerun on the debacle of 2015. It is important that these documents are posted on the IVRPA website for all members to see and to ensure transparency in the operation of the IVRPA.
Respectfully,
Brian Richards

IVRPA Director - Vice PresidentHi Sam,
Glad to hear it, when and where will you be notifying members about the live video streams from Québec 2016?
