Yeah, you’d think with the events last year that it would be more important to sign an agreement of openness and transparency.
What was the subject line. I have searched my inbox many times and haven’t seen any. Can you double check my settings to make sure I am not unsubscribed? I don’t recall ever getting anything beyond forum announcements in my email.
but please know, that we are working on the board as volunteers in our spare time, and can’t always get the news out immediately
I would just like to remind you of what you agreed to when running for re-election this year. It’s annoying and builds up a lack of trust in the leadership when you make these “we are just volunteers” statements. This is a serious commitment.
In the last election, there were enough candidates for all the BOD positions to be filled, but then without explanation, the date to apply was extended and a bunch of current members decided to them submit for re-election as if they forgot about it themselves so extended it for personal reasons. As I was one of the candidates, I withdrew as I firmly believed that the existing BOD was best served by the existing members as they already have momentum working together.
While this may be the case behind the scenes, and things are hopefully functioning well, publically it seems like there are some serious issues, as noted by Bill earlier.
Was the promised newsletter ever sent? I didn’t receive it.
Be aware that this is a serious commitment, not a vanity position. The IVRPA BoD is legally responsible for the operation of this non-profit corporation. As a director you will be expected to spend at least a few hours per week working on projects and participating in discussions. This could expand depending on your level of involvement in projects and at certain times of the year. More importantly, you must be a self-starter able to take charge of projects and see them through, all while working as part of an international team. During the last couple of years the board of directors has been one of the most effective ever, and we all wish to maintain and even increase this momentum.November 19, 2018 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Reminder: Facebook is NOT the IVRPA Members Forum! #18728
“And when I, as a former President, has been “accidentally” banned from posting”
@luc, you have posted many times since the call for candidates, so I doubt that was the case. I think the BOD’s are showing a lot of grace to allow the extension for candidates when the timelines were clearly given.
Hopefully, you can work out your differences with Sam (preferably in private) before the election so that the BOD can work together as a team with a common goal after the election.
Hi George, I don’t know about any discounts for hotels or airlines this year, but tickets are already for sale here: https://ivrpa.org/event/tokyo-2018/tickets/

Sadly yes. The worst is when it shows an empty hallway or a shot in the bathroom as the top thumbnail.January 12, 2018 at 4:45 pm in reply to: Can someone help with the Google Street View publishing software please? #15361
This is a huge problem, but it has nothing to do with the software.
Google has decided that the starting angle of a tour is going to be chosen by an algorithm, that tries to calculate the starting scene. Unfortunately, nothing any of us can do.
One hack that sometimes works is to set the centre of the pano when you stitch to be the main view, but that doesn’t always work.
Thanks, Oskaras!November 23, 2017 at 2:23 pm in reply to: Inquiry: Anyone spend time in Cape, St Marys Newfoundland filming 360? #15039
