The IVRPA is the only international organization serving the needs and interests of creatives in the VR/XR field. Our mission is to help members and the wider community improve their capabilities, creativity, and careers. Our webinar series is well-received. Membership is increasing. The treasury is solid. We have plans to do much more.
The Board of Directors steers the organization and does much of the work to bring our mission to life. Do you have ideas for how we can do better, big or small? You may have skills in web work or social media, or a connection to academia. Regardless, the best way to improve IVRPA and help it grow is to serve on the board.
Three two-year and one one-year seats are open. Full (Pro) members are eligible.
The board meets monthly online and in special sessions as needed. Board members are active and involved. Your time commitment can range from a couple of hours per month to more, depending on the position and tasks you choose to take on. It can be work, but also a rewarding and educational experience.
The 2025 Board Election forum is open for candidate statements. (You must log in to your account to access it.) You can find instructions for submitting your statement there. The deadline is midnight Pacific Time on Saturday, November 29th.
Note: Some people wondered what personal benefits come from serving on the board. The biggest benefit is that you will help the organization evolve to be more beneficial to the entire community, you included. In addition, serving on a professional board helps you make professional connections. We learn from each other, and if you don’t get one or two insights or ideas at each meeting, which can help you professionally… You aren’t paying attention. We all share freely from widely different perspectives.
